The Egyptian Journal of Medical Education
Why Publish with EJME ?
Choosing where to send a paper is always a difficult decision. Here are some ways in which you will benefit by publishing your paper in EJME rather than another in-category journals.
-
This journal is indexed in CrossRef and many other indexes. The CrossRef system is used for linking citations across publishers. To ensure direct linking to and from its contents, EJME is linked to CrossRef. Online archives have also been indexed.
-
Every Article will be provided with DOI and will remain the permanent link of that article.
-
Wide dissemination. EJME is the leading open-access medical education journal, providing an innovative and influential venue for research and comment on the major challenges to human health education nation and worldwide. As an open access journal, articles in EJME will always be freely available online, from our website to anyone with internet access. This means that your work will have the broadest possible audience. It is now established that open access articles get downloaded and cited more frequently.
-
High visibility: EJME website is among the most visited Egyptian and international health informatics sites on the web with high traffic stats.
-
International Review Board: consisting of leading experts in the field who will advise authors on how to improve their papers
-
Constructive peer-review: While the chances of publication are high if you did methodologically sound research, our peer-review process is rigorous enough to filter out papers which do not justify publication in an academic journal, therefore preserving the chance for a higher impact factor for our journal. We decline some submissions because they either do not fit the journal's scope, or contain fundamentally flawed data. On the other hand, papers which are "just" poorly written but contain great data are never rejected, instead, we actively work with authors to produce a publishable manuscript.
-
Authors retain copyright: and can republish their work for example as book chapters or their personal homepage (as long as the original publication in EJME is acknowledged).
-
Rapid publication. Because we are primarily an online journal, once a paper is accepted, we do not have to wait for space to become available in the print journal before the paper is published. The time between acceptance and online publication is very short.
-
More Flexibility: e-papers allow novel article components, e.g. "Multimedia appendices" such as video or PowerPoint-attachments
-
Your research, put in context. Each research article is accompanied by an Editors’ Summary written to be understandable by all medical professionals, whatever their specialty, and the general public.
-
Author-friendly editing. Unlike other leading publications, we will not totally rewrite your paper to conform to a rigid "publishing-house" style. We will, of course, help authors whose first language is not English. In addition, we will not ask you to shorten your paper unnecessarily, although we do require papers to be written concisely.
-
No need to order reprints. Our open access license means that anyone can reprint and distribute our content, so long as they credit the author and cite the original source. Commercial publishing companies make huge profits reprinting your work—now you have an alternative.
-
Your research has the chance to have a high impact. There are a number of ways of measuring a journal's impact, including the influence it has on health policy, how widely read its papers are, and how frequently the papers are cited by other researchers.
-
Publicity. We send out periodically press releases and set major international database submissions on papers published by EJME to ensure that papers have the greatest chance of being covered accurately by the media.
-
Notes, Comments, and Ratings. EJME provides an expanding scope of 'Web 2.0' tools to facilitate community evaluation and discourse around published articles.
-
Acceptance rate is higher: Save yourself the hassle to send around your paper from journal to journal (and hearing after 6 months that it has not even been sent out for peer-review). We will never reject a paper simply due to "space restrictions" (because there are none). Rather, we will accept any reasonable academic paper that fits our scope and which contains valid original data. On the other hand, we are selective enough to publish papers which are expected to be cited often.
-
There are NO FEES for submission of your papers, the process is totally FREE OF CHARGE.
